Core Atomic Structure: Electronic Structure
Slide 34 of 44
A Must…
You MUST memorize the symbol, the position, electronic structure and configuration for the first 20 element in the periodic table.
You will get a periodic table in every test but I WILL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW THAT IF YOU DON’T, YOU WILL STRUGGLE TO UNDERSTAND AND MASTER THE MORE ADVANCED CONCEPTS AND SKILLS.
I cannot emphasize more strongly the importance of this.
To help you with that, prepare two sets of flash cards with the following information:
–Set 1: Atomic symbol with the question “Electronic structure?” underneath it, and on the other side electronic structure with the question “Symbol?” for the first 20 elements.
–Set 2: Name of element on one side with question “Electronic configuration?” underneath it, and on the other side electronic configuration and question “Name?” underneath again for the first 20 elements.
Use and refer to them over the next few weeks in the classroom and when doing homework.
