Concentration and Molarity
The amount of solute (solid) dissolved in a solvent is referred to as its concentration.
The concentration of a solution expresses the amount of solute (gram or moles) dissolved in a unit volume (usually liter or dm3) solution.
(By contrast, solubility expresses the quantity of solute per unit volume or a specific mass of the solvent.)
–For example, 10.1 g of NaCl dissolved in distilled water and made to a volume of 1.00 dm3 (or liter) gives us a NaCl solution of concentration 10.1 g/dm3.
